Love him like a daughter...

So I'm sure most of you have read this blog post because it's been floating around Facebook, BUT if you haven't, then definitely take the time to, especially if you have a son!  Click here to read 28 rules for Fathers of sons.  It is so sweet!  My favorite is #25 love him like you would love your daughter.  The reason I love this one so much is because I know how much my Daddy loved his 3 girls. And everyone always says that little girls wrap their daddies around their fingers.  Well, this little boy....

has his Daddy wrapped around his finger, tight!  I am so proud of the Daddy Chase has become.  I couldn't choose anyone better for G.  He already possesses so many of these qualities (1: Love his Mother, 16: Father him, 19: Give him bear hugs, 20: Give him baths, 23: Toss him around, 25: Love him like you would love a daughter, 27: Don’t say, do, 28: Be his hero) and I know, even though Griffin isn't old enough for some of these, Chase will continue to fulfill them as he grows up.  I pray every night that Chase is the father in this blog post and I know he will be.  Thank you Chase for being the best Daddy to Griffin I could ever imagine.  We are so thankful for you and love you more than you'll ever know!!

A few sweet pictures of my boys...

This was when he was showing G off for the first time...love how proud he looks

This one melts my heart...

Smothering G with kisses

I know one day G will grow up to be like his Daddy and although I don't want him to grow out of being my baby I can't wait to see him be like just like Chase!

First TCU games!

Anyone who thought this die hard TCU fan would miss games due to a new baby was definitely mistaken.  Since I have become that crazy mom that won't ever leave her child, at least I can admit it, G got to go to his first TCU games this season!!  I heard "how miserable having a baby at a game" from multiple people but guess what!  It was a piece of cake and G enjoyed every minute of it!  I just wore the baby bjorn and Griffin slept when he wanted to sleep and when he was awake he was a happy little frog fan strapped to his momma!  I'm so relieved I'm not the paranoid type that is scared to take him places because our lives would have had to change so much.  Chase and I have always been the type to go go go and now it's even that much more fun to have a little travel buddy to do it with!  Here's some pics of our tiny horned frog!

This pic got Griffin on the big screen!

Although we aren't veryyyy good this year, it has sure been a blast introducing Griffin to this fun tradition!  Go Frogs!!

Griffin Watts

Our little man was born on July 2, 2013!  I can't believe he is already 2 months old.  So much has changed since having a baby.
  • Sleep is no longer a leisure activity - it's a luxury
  • Despite what the experts say, babies CAN be spoiled when they're newborns.  G won't let Mommy or Daddy put him down.
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner all happen after G eats
  • Short trips to Target now take at least an hour
  • Sonic runs are impossible because the car can't stop when Griffin's in it, he hates his carseat
  • Scratch that!!  Sonic runs are now possible because of Kids beat - Mommy can no longer listen to country.  From now on it's Old MacDonald and Wheels on The Bus...
  • Thank goodness for baby bjorns - that's how I get my hair fixed
  • Shopping for smocked bubbles, monogrammed jonjon's and kissy kissy footed pajamas is way more fun than shopping for purses and wedges.
  • No one person has ever made me smile, laugh or love the way I do now
Meet the next TCU left handed pitcher, the most serious baby with the cutest furrowed eye brows, the best dressed 2 month old, the answer to our prayers and our new favorite person Griffin Watts!!

Griffin's Nursery

I am SO happy with how Griffin's nursery turned out and veryyyy glad it's finally done.  I didn't realize how long it would actually take me.  I started super early and everyone thought I was crazy but I'm glad I did.  Because the details and waiting on paychecks to come in every 2 weeks to pay for those details takes some serious time.  I finally got it 100% finished last week and I'm only 4 weeks away from D-day (hopefully sooner)!!  I didn't particularly want a theme for his nursery so I just ended up doing it greys and whites with a few touches of blue.  It's crazy to think in a few short weeks he will be here!  Although he won't use his nursery the first couple of months, I know he'll get great use out of it once he is out of our room!

Welcome to G's Nursery!!!

Well, as you can tell, our child will not forget his name/initials.  Monograms and embroidering his name everywhere was 100% necessary in my eyes:)!  I can't even begin to explain how ready I am for this baby to be here.  This summer heat is NO JOKE.  I didn't think I could get this big/out of breath/hot, but apparently being 8-9 months pregnant in the dead heat of summer was the worst decision I've ever made.  Although, I know it will all be worth it when sweet G is in our arms!!!

G's Baby Shower

I guess I should start out by saying that Griffin is the most blessed little boy on this planet!  His shower was absolutely perfect and he got everything he could possibly need.  We are so very thankful!!!  My hostesses threw a picture perfect shower for G and I.  The theme was Shake, Rattle, and Roll which was super adorable.  I can't thank the special ladies who put it all together enough.  Here are some pics from the day...

his sweet door wreath that I can't wait to fill in his stats on! my guess is he's going to be a pretty big boy but really he has no choice considering mine and his daddy's birth weight

 how cute was this idea??

isn't this the truth...

I loved this idea...all of my favorite cravings!!

Griffin's going to have a lot of friends and we are SO excited!

Thankful for these amazing hostesses and the ones who were unable to make it!

Let me just tell you, Chase almost had a heart attack when he got home and had to unload the cars full of gifts.  It is CRAZY how much babies need.  I had to explain to him that yes, the swing and bouncer are both necessary and they actually really do different things.  Kind of, one swings, one bounces, both soothe baby, but we don't have to tell him we could really make it just fine with just one.  I have so many baby contraptions that I think Griffin will just switch positions every 30 minutes.  But seriously, I can't wait to put them all to use!!  Thanks so much to everyone who made Griffin's shower so special, we are beyond blessed!!
