Making our house a home...

As soon as Chase and I knew that Lufkin was going to for sure be home for us, we started house hunting.  We looked online every single day hoping that our precious little home would pop up.  We only had 2 necessities that we wouldn't sacrifice.  1- Had to be in the neighborhood that my sister and brother in law lived in and 2- had to have a backyard for our pups.  Not hard right?  WRONG.  Our realtor finally called us one day with the perfect house.  It hadn't even been put on the market and she wanted us to take a look at it first.  Well, it was fate.  We became homeowners and the bills started racking up.  We bought our house knowing that we wanted to fix it up but once we got into the updating, it all started piling on.  Our first tackle was the kitchen.  We bought all new appliances, granite countertops, backsplash, and light fixtures.  Once the kitchen was finished it seemed like a breeze.  We put granite in both our bathroom and the guest bath and updated all the faucets.  Finally it was time to paint.  We repainted the entire house (including the outside because our previous owner thought that turquoise blue was a beautiful outside color).  It was finally finished and time to move in.  We truly made our house a home.  It's everything I ever wanted for our first home together. Obviously, I am still walking around our house daily finding things to add but for now, it's perfect.  I wish I had before pictures to post because y'all would be amazed at how much this little home transformed!

I'm going to do a blog post everyday this week of all the different rooms.  If I did it all in one it would be picture overload!  We'll start out with our living room.  I love our living room.  It's so open and flows right into the dining room and into the kitchen.  We really wanted the open feel and got lucky because not many older homes have that.  I had been keeping my eye out on pinterest for a while once I knew we were going to be homeowners.  I wanted a really clean/neutral feel.  I love the greys and had to find the perfect grey for our walls - we ended up going with Benajmin Moore Storm and I couldn't be more pleased!

Welcome to our little living room:)

I love how our picture wall turned out.  I think the black and white photos look so good against the grey wall.  Also, Chase keeps my vases full with fresh flowers - I'm pretty blessed!

All the hydrangeas in our house are from our wedding.  I love these lamps that I can fill with goodies according to the time of the year.

Chase did get one say in the decorating of the house.  He wanted a new TV so I decided I guess I needed to let him have something:)  He was pretty satisfied with this beauty.  We're also still waiting on our mantel.  It's in the process of being made and should be up in time for stockings (Chase's one concern!)

My mirror wall turned out perfect.  All the mirrors are from different places and they came together to make a perfect piece of art!

Thanks for stopping by, tomorrow ya'll will get to see where we cook/eat!
